Getting into medicine and health related courses is tough. For entry into all other degrees, you only need to score a high ATAR. In contrast, admission into undergraduate Medicine and other health sciences requires outstanding performance in three separate “tests”.



Although each University may place different emphasis on each of these criteria, strong performance in all three is generally a pre-requisite for entry into the top health courses. For instance, if you are looking to study medicine, without a high ATAR and UMAT score, you won’t even be given an interview!
